Do I need to deal with Czech customs?

It’s up to you to make sure the contents of the parcel you send to the Czech Republic are allowed into the country - failing to do so may result in extra charges, the parcel being returned or possibly even destroyed. Avoid this by making sure you don’t send anything on the ipostparcels restricted and prohibited items list as well as for the Czech Republic itself.

As with most international post, when you send a parcel to the Czech Republic from the UK, there are sometimes additional customs duties and import taxes that need to be paid, depending on the contents.

Personal effects can be sent to the Czech Republic, but these too require additional documentation to prove they have been used previously. Visit the Ceská pošta website for more information.

If this sounds a bit too much like hard work, don’t worry, we’ll help automatically generate any documents for you from the information you provide on the [booking form]

How to package parcels to Czech Republic

Depending where in the UK you send from, the journey your parcel will take to the Czech Republic is fewer than 1000 miles – which isn’t the furthest of distances for a package to be transported, but far enough that we advise you make an effort when preparing your parcels. All ipostparcels packages are likely to pass through a number of depots with both manual and automated sorting machines, as well as the road and / or air transit time, so the occasional scrape or bump could easily happen.

We’ll carry parcels up to 25kg in weight and 80x80x80cm max, but regardless of the size or weight, you ought to use a strong and sturdy outer box to send your items in. Remember not to over fill the box and to use lightweight packing material inside your parcel to help cushion and protect the contents from moving around inside and becoming damaged.
