Holiday Timeline

clock May 10, 2013 09:26 by author Fahmeda A - Parcel Pete's Helper

Researching holidays, finding out where to go and what time of the year can be time consuming. ipostparcels.com have taken a look into this and have put together a little holiday timeline which will help advise you on where’s best to go, at specific times of the year.

Spring Break

Spring’s a great time of the year to visit places such as Morocco, Egypt and Italy, all short haul flights and nice and warm.  African Safaris are also cheap this time of the year due to it being the wet season.

Summer Holidays

We don’t always get as much sun as we’d like during the summer season in the UK and some other destinations can be too hot for example Dubai and Egypt can be unbearably hot.  Why not try Europe; you’ll get gorgeous weather, culture and landscapes from the likes of Sicily and Sardinia. Italy is also a personal favourite of our top delivery man, Parcel Pete.

Autumn Days

Temperatures become a lot more reasonable during the autumn term for destinations such as Dubai. You can still get a tan without being uncomfortably hot. We also recommend the Far East, they’ll be coming out of their wet season towards the end of autumn and the likes of Thailand and Malaysia are a must.

Winter Warmers

Escape the winter blues to warmer climes like Barbados, Jamaica, Cuba and Mexico. Prices may be slightly high but definitely worth it for the gorgeous beaches and crystal clear sea. If not, skiing is great this time of the year in Europe.

So there you have it, take a break from sending parcels and start booking your holidays, Parcel Pete certainly will be. Keep a look out on our Facebook and Twitter pages to see where in the world Parcel Pete will be visiting….

Snow Update 21st January 2013

clock January 21, 2013 07:34 by author Parcel Pete

Hi All, its Parcel Pete again giving you another update on our parcel delivery service.  It’s still quite hazardous out there but we’ve been working over the weekend to avoid as many delays as we can, however some isolated postcodes will experience some service delays.

Some roads remain closed whilst some residential streets are quite badly affected making it a challenge for our drivers. Please do bear with us; we’re doing our best to get to you.

Specific postcode disruption detail can be obtained from our Customer Care teams, however, the general information is as follows:

Scotland                              Remains largely unaffected at this current time

NorthWest                          Main routes ok, some isolated postcode issues in side roads

NorthEast                           Main routes ok, some isolated postcode issues in side roads. However,  heavy snowfalls are forecast for this area over the next few days.  Parts of Sheffield, Leeds, Huddersfield, Teesside, York and Newcastle will all be affected

Midlands                            Remains largely unaffected apart from some isolated issues in side roads

SouthWest                         Some residual postcode issues from the severe weather last Friday in the whole of Mid & South Wales and also Bath. Snow is forecast for this area again tomorrow.

SouthEast                           remains largely unaffected apart from some isolated issues in side roads

The situation is constantly changing, however, the message for today so far is that all parcels are out for delivery or were delivered during the weekend.  Of course, we have the challenging conditions which may mean some postcodes are inaccessible and so service on these may experience a delay.

We will continue to update you on social media on any other changes.

Heavy Snowfall may cause Service Delays

clock January 18, 2013 05:22 by author Parcel Pete

Hi All! Its Parcel Pete here, the UK this morning has woken up to a thick blanket of snow. Some roads are impassable, trains have been cancelled and some airports closed as what is set to be the heaviest snowfall of winter.

Wales, the West Country, eastern England, the North East of England and Scotland were the worst-hit areas this morning - with the band of severe weather set to spread across the country.

Drivers in Wales were facing major problems, with the M4 closed between Bridgend at junction 36 and Pyle at junction 37.

Gritters have been out in force, and the Highways Agency has issued an amber alert, advising motorists to take extra care and check weather forecasts before they travel.

Due to these severe weather conditions and road closures some parcel deliveries and collections may be delayed.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the weather conditions and will be updating you all via our social media pages.
