Booking a parcel delivery online - Get a quick quote for a UK, ROI or International parcel delivery


How to get to our quick quote:


  • Click on the logos located at the top left of the page to navigate to our quick quote at any point when navigating through our website.
  • You can also select ‘get a quick quote’ underneath ‘Send a parcel’ found within the navigation.

Need a quick price for parcel delivery in the UK and Northern Ireland?


  • The ‘’Destination’’ field should be set at ‘’United Kingdom’’ which covers parcel delivery across the UK and Northern Ireland.
  • Enter your ‘’Collection Postcode’’ which is where you want us to collect your parcel from (home/work/business address).
  • Enter the ‘’Delivery Postcode’’ of where your parcel is being delivered to.
  • Select which ‘’Parcel Size’’ you’ll be sending. At ipostparcels you can select from our pre-defined parcel delivery sizes; from extra small (up to 2kg) all the way up to extra extra-large (up to 25kg). Just remember to weigh and measure your parcel correctly so you can select the right pre-sized parcel size for your UK delivery.

Need a quick price for delivery to Ireland?

  • Within the ‘’Destination’’ field you can start typing ‘’Ireland’’ or select ‘‘Ireland’’ from the drop down - once Ireland has been selected you will see our quick quote change slightly. Please note delivery to the Republic of Ireland can be quoted by selecting United Kingdom in the ‘’Destination" field’.
  • Enter your ‘’Collection Postcode’’ which is where you want us to collect your parcel from (home/work/business address).
  • Select the Irish ‘’County’’ from the drop down of where your parcel is being delivered to.
  • Select which ‘’Parcel Size’’ you’ll be sending. At ipostparcels you can select from our pre-defined parcel delivery prices; from extra small (up to 2kg) all the way up to extra extra-large (up to 25kg).   • Within the ‘’Destination’’ field you can start typing the country of where your parcel is being delivered to or select the country from the drop down.
  • Enter your ‘’Collection Postcode’’ of where you want us to collect your parcel from (home/work/business address). Please note, that to adhere to customs regulations, we can only collect parcels from the address that is registered to your ipostparcels account (or you can drop off at any of our DHL Parcel UK service points).
  • Unlike UK or Ireland delivery we require you to enter your exact parcel weight plus ‘’L’’ (length), "W’’ (width) and ‘’H’’ (height) to provide you with a cost to deliver your parcel Internationally. When sending within Europe we offer Road Economy or a Worldwide Air delivery service for most countries, to suit your budget and time constraints. For all worldwide destinations we offer a fast, cheap and reliable air only service.

Booking a parcel delivery online – UK, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland


Our booking form is split into three simple steps as detailed below:


Step One:


Your collection or service point drop off details

Collection from your home/work/business address

Drop off at a depot / DHL Parcel UK service point Save £1.25

If you’ve had a quick quote and selected ‘book’ the first step within the booking form will be pre-populated with your postcode. Simply, select ‘find address’ to populate your collection details and select the date of when you want us to collect your parcel from your door. You can book a collection up to 5 working days in advance or we’ll collect directly from your door, the next working day after your booking.

If you would like to drop your parcel off at one of our 50+ service points across the UK and save £1.25 on every parcel you send in a UK order then select this option. Our depot/service point finder will automatically pop up for you to select your nearest service point, or you can enter your own postcode and we will automatically fine your nearest service point. You can book a service point drop off up to 6 working days in advance or drop off on the same day of your booking.

  • TIP: If you’re not going to be home when we need to collect your parcel you can ‘’leave your parcel safe’’. Please note that parcels left safe are at their own risk and must be easily accessible for our drivers. Incorrectly packaged or labelled parcels will not be collected.

  • If you login first then this step will be pre-populated with your registered address, all you need to do is select your collection date or drop off at DHL Parcel UK Service point (depot).

Step Two:


Booking a parcel delivery online - Your recipients delivery details

Sold an item on eBay?

Delivering to a UK address? Delivering to a ROI address?

Delivering to a depot / DHL Parcel UK service point? (Save £1.75)

Click on the eBay button and we can import the delivery address details of your sold items straight into our booking form. All you need to do is ensure you’ve linked your eBay and ipostparcels accounts first.

Enter the postcode of your recipient, click find address and select the full address of your parcels final destination. The remaining fields will be pre-populated with your selection.

Select Republic of Ireland and then you will notice a quick change to the postcode field. This will be a drop down of all counties in ROI for you to select. After this stage manually enter the full address of your parcels final destination.

Select ‘depot collection’ and we can send your parcel to one of our 50+ DHL Parcel UK service points (depots) for your recipient to collect. Our ‘depot finder’ will automatically pop u for you to select your recipients nearest location.

  • TIP: If you have saved addresses in your address book you can enter the reference and the form will pre-populate with your recipients address.

Step Three:

Select your pre-defined UK or ROI parcel size and add any additional extras to your standard, next day, UK delivery*.

*Please note that delivery to Northern Ireland, The Highlands, Ireland, British Isles and parts of Scotland operate on a 1-3 day delivery service.

Add a signature Or Leave safe

If you decide not to ‘’Add a signature (£1.50)’’ you must state where your parcel should be ‘’left safe’’, at your recipients address. Extended contents cover cannot be purchased if you do not ‘’Add a signature (£1.50)’’ - your parcel will only be covered up to the standard £0-£25.

Please note: "Add signature" or "safe place" do not need to be selected and will not be displayed if your parcel is being delivered to a DHL Parcel UK service point / depot – saving you £1.75 off your parcel delivery when you deliver to a service point/depot.

Delivery service

Your parcel will be delivered between 8am – 6pm the next working day*, as standard. You can select a timed delivery or Saturday delivery as an additional extra. Delivery to Northern Ireland, The Highlands, Islands, British Isles and parts of Scotland operate on a 1-3 day delivery service.

Description of contents

Enter a brief description of our parcels contents and ensure you have checked the prohibited and restricted items lists before shipping.

Value of parcel

Estimate the total value of your parcels contents in sterling – you do not need to enter a pound symbol, just enter the contents value as a number. If you have chosen ‘’Add signature (+£1.50)’’ then the extended contents cover will change automatically to suit the value of your parcel. Please note that value of the parcel cannot be zero - you won't be able to proceed to the next step.

Extended cover

This will change based on the value of your parcel contents. If you do not wish to add extended contents cover you can change it back to the standard £0-£25. If you have selected your parcel to be ‘‘left safe’’ at your recipients address you cannot add any extended contents cover. Please note: If you take out more cover than the value of your parcel contents, we will only cover up to the value of your parcel contents. See terms and conditions for more.

Pre-delivery & post-delivery notifications

We will send a text or email to your registered email address or mobile phone number depending on which option you chose. ‘’Pre-notifications’’ will be sent out to confirm your parcel collection or DHL Parcel UK, service point/depot drop off. ‘’Post-notifications’’ will be sent to confirm your parcel has been signed for or "left safe" at your recipients address or has arrived at our DHL Parcel UK service point/depot for your recipient to collect.

  • TIP: You can add a parcel reference within this step. This is an additional number/word you can create to use to track your parcel alongside the shipment number which will be produced once you have completed your booking.

Booking a parcel delivery online – International parcel delivery


You must login or register with ipostparcels before you can start an Interntional booking


Step One:

If you’ve had a quick quote and selected ‘book’ you will be prompted to login or register before you can progress with your International parcel delivery booking. For customs regulations, we can only collect parcels from the address registered to your ipostparcels account. You can book a collection up to 5 working days in advance and we’ll collect directly from your door, the next working day after your booking.

If you would like to drop your parcel off at one of our 50+ DHL Parcel UK service points / depots across the UK (Saving £1.25 on every parcel you send) then select this option. Our depot/service point finder will automatically pop up for you to select your nearest service point or you can enter your own postcode and we will automatically find your nearest service point. You can book a service point drop off up to 6 working days in advance or drop off on the same working day of booking.


Step Two:


Booking a parcel delivery online - Your recipients delivery details

Select the country you are sending to from the drop down field or by typing the country you are sending to within this field. You will then need to manually enter your recipients address details and ensure you provide a full phone number and email address so your recipient can receive tracking notifications.

TIP: If you are sending a parcel to the States / USA then the county/zip code field will become a searchable drop down box for you to find the right state.


Step Three:


Booking a parcel delivery online - Your International delivery options
Parcel weight plus L (length) x W (width) x H (height)

Enter the exact weight and dimensions of your parcel and then you will see the delivery options available to you appear below. The size and weight of your parcel effects the price you’ll pay. Failure to declare the correct weight and size means your parcel may be refused on collection/drop off, can be returned back to you, incurring charges or delayed until further payment has been made.

Sending to Europe

If you are sending within Europe we offer an Economy Road or Worldwide Air service to suit your budget and time constraints.

Special instructions

You can provide additional information that may help the driver complete your International delivery.

Customer reference

You can enter your own unique parcel reference number to track your parcel via our DHL Parcel UK website. This will also be shown on your order confirmation email and label once you have completed your booking.


Step Four:


Booking a parcel delivery online – International customs declaration

This section must be completed to allow your parcel to be sent Internationally and will enable us to automatically generate the customs documentation you need (pro–forma or commercial invoice). False or misleading customs information may result in a fine and/or your parcel being sized and destroyed. Read more here.

VAT status (Vat EROI number)

Please select which VAT status applies to you. If you are a VAT registered company you will be prompted to enter your VAT EROI number which will enable us to send you a VAT receipt. 

Reason for export

Please select from the drop down the reason for exporting your goods Internationally.

Goods for re-sale

You will only see this if the reason for export is selected as ‘Sale or Purchase’. If your goods are going to be sold or purchased in the country you are shipping to you will need to tick this box.

In free circulation

If your goods are destined for the EU please confirm that are in free circulation, i.e. taxes and duties have been paid.

Country of origin

Please state the country of where the items within your parcel were made.

Description of parcel contents

Enter a brief description of our parcels contents and ensure you have checked the prohibited and restricted items lists before shipping.

List the items in your parcel – quantity, item description and unit value.

Quantity: if sending more than one item within your parcel please state how many are within your parcel

Item description: please state what the item is. For example – tea bags

Unit Value: Add the value of your item within sterling using a number value – you do not need to enter the pound symbol.

Please note: You MUST list all items which are within your parcel. The total unit value will be added up within the ‘’total value’’ field - this field is un-editable and your extended contents cover will be adjusted to reflect the total value of all goods/items within your parcel.

Extended contents cover

This will change based on the value of your parcel contents. If you do not wish to add extended contents cover to cover the full value of your parcels contents, you can change it back to the standard £0-£50.

What's included in your parcel delivery



Free contents cover - We offer free £25 cover as standard across all UK and Ireland deliveries and £50 on all International deliveries. This can also be upgraded if the actual value of the item you are shipping is greater than these amounts up to £1000.
   
Collection from your home or business address - Waiting is the worst but, when you're sending a parcel there is an alternative to queuing in the line at the Post Office - we collect your parcel straight from your door.
   
Fully tracked service - Your parcel is always in safe hands. Our 'parcel tracker' will keep your recipient updated every step of the way, including being able to see their position on our drivers route - they'll also be able to opt for a free 'You're Next' alert via email or SMS.
   
One hour delivery and collection slots - If you're having your parcel collected from your home or work address, we'll provide you with a one hour window when our driver will be with you. Your recipient will also receive a one hour delivery window text or email if you select this option and add their information at the time of booking.


Important information about sending parcels in the post


There are a number of items which are not permitted to be sent through the ipostparcels / DHL Parcel UK networks. These include: breakable goods, valuable goods, dangerous goods and restricted goods. Before sending any items in the post you will need to ensure that your parcel does not contain anything which could be classed as breakable, valuable, dangerous and/or restricted. You can see our advice on UK prohibited items here or check our terms and conditions. Please note if your parcel contains anything that could fall into the above categories, any cover provided by us (either standard or extended contents cover) may be invalidated, and if your parcel causes damage to the parcels of other senders, we may recover the costs of repairing such damage from you.
