Do I need to deal with Turkish customs?

For any parcel heading outside of the EU, you’ll need to fill out a customs form. This tells the Customs Agents in the destination country about the contents of your package so they can process it correctly.

As with most international posting, when you send a parcel to Turkey from the UK, there are sometimes additional customs duties and import taxes that need to be paid, depending on the contents. When you book your delivery with ipostparcels, we will provide you with all the correct forms you need to help your parcel through both UK and Turkish customs.

Products such as alcoholic drinks, money and passports are not only prohibited to send to Turkey, they’re also on the ipostparcels prohibited list so take a look at the full list before you send. In the meantime, some examples of items you can’t post to Turkey include:

Restricted and Prohibited Goods

Please be aware that we also have our own prohibited items list, in addition to country-specific restrictions.

How to package parcels to Turkey

Depending where in the UK you ship from and where in Turkey your parcel is going, it’s safe to say the journey is around 3,000 miles – so we certainly advise taking care when preparing your parcels for delivery as every parcel will go through a number of depots with manual and automated sorting machines.

At ipostparcels, we’ll transport parcels up to 25kg in weight, 80x80x80cm max in size – but no matter what size or weight, use a strong and sturdy outer box to send your items in and don’t overfill it. Don’t forget to use a cushioning material inside your parcel to help protect the contents from moving around too much inside and becoming damaged.
