About Georgia

The very mountainous country of Georgia resides in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Situated at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, is it boarded by the Black Sea to the west, Russia to the North and to the South by Turkey and Armenia. Its capital and largest city is Tbilisi. The country itself covers around 60,700 square kilometres of land with a population of almost 5 million. Georgia is a member of the Council of Europe and the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.

Parcel Prohibitions & Restrictions

As with most country Georgia has rues on what can and cannot be allowed into the country. It is of vital importance that you comply with these restrictions as failure to do so may result in delays at customers, extra charges or even potentially the destruction of your parcel. Items such as tobacco and political material are some of the numerous prohibited items – bearing that in mind it is not a good idea to use newspaper for packaging your parcel.

Georgia is not part of the EU and so you must send a customs invoice with your parcel. This is generated for you during the booking process; all you have to do is print it out.

It is also important to declare the value of the goods you are sending as there may be taxes or duties to pay, these may be charged by the local government when your parcel arrives in the country. As we do not charge these fees we cannot include them in your quote.

If you need to know more information you can find it on the Georgia Customs Website
